Become a TOPS Coach!

The TOPSoccer Coach will be in charge of field activities and management of buddies for their assigned group. They will have to be creative and flexible to create an environment for success. An environment for success means understanding the ability of their players, to have time and patience to develop their players and help supporting their TOPSoccer buddies. A buddy is a volunteer who acts as a mentor, guide and friend to our players and are a valuable role in getting kids off the sidelines and into the game.

This position is ideal for someone who is creative, flexible and comfortable adapting traditional soccer games and activities to fit the skills and ability of their players.

Duties of a TOPSoccer Coach

• Create a safe and enjoyable environment
• Support and instruct TOPSoccer buddies
• Be flexible and adaptive on the field
• Understand the different abilities of players
• To support and encourage players
• Help organize the TOPSoccer Season

Coaching TOPSoccer players is a rewarding position that allows our TOPSoccer players the chance to get off the sidelines and into the game. To help support our TOPSoccer coaches, Massachusetts Youth Soccer holds coaches clinics throughout the year, provides an annual US Youth certification courses and supplies information, activities suggestions and session tools through the TOPSoccer Coach and Buddy Resources.
